Anxiety & Depression

In God’s presence are peace and joy! But many Christians are not experiencing that peace and joy. First, let’s understand some things about depression and anxiety. Depression should not be confused with short-term emotional distress or feeling low, which also are constituents of depression.  Anyone can feel low for a brief period of time, or sad once in a while, and it is advised to seek out help at those times as well if you feel you are not moving past it quickly enough. Depression is much more serious and is marked by, a persistent feeling of sadness, loneliness, grief, apathy, and emotional pain.  If this describes you, it is important to seek help right away. Especially if suicidal thoughts or thoughts of harming oneself have started. God promises that when you seek out godly counsel and apply that counsel, you will be blessed. He is calling you to “ask” for help, and we are here for you to seek His leading in bringing you hope and healing. If you feel suicidal right now, please call 911, and then you can call us from the hospital to be there for you when you get out.

Fear and anxiety are, unfortunately, very prevalent in our society and the body of Christ, as well. Fear is the opposite of God’s perfect love and is our enemy’s number one tool against us. You may have experienced pastors and friends who quote scriptures to you like, “Cast all your cares on the Lord”, “He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind”, and “He delivered me from all my fears”. These are great promises from God, but they can bring great frustration to those dealing with long-term anxiety rooted in trauma, chemistry, or spiritual bondage.  God does have the answer though, in His Word and His wisdom. At In His Image, we have sought God for years to find the best models of healing, available to Pastoral Counselors, for our clients in these areas and have been successful in leading many clients to hope, healing, and freedom!

Christian Counseling has proven to lead so many to a place of victory, joy, and a new zeal for life and God! Our approach, at In His Image Counseling, is a whole-person approach, addressing body, soul, and spirit issues.  When all 3 areas are considered and ministered to, there is a greater victory for so many! When joy and peace return, everything in life becomes fruitful again.

“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”.
